What the heck is NIHITO?

In my first class with Pragmatic Marketing – one thing stood out.  That was when instructor Steve Johnson wrote the following on the board:

NIHITO

What’s NIHITO?  No it’s not some expensive piece of sushi.  It stands for

Nothing Interesting Happens In The Office.

The one-word lesson is essentially a warning that you don’t learn about markets just by sitting in your ivory tower and making stuff up.  It may seem stereotypical, but when Sales people complain about product managers or marketing, it’s probably their #1 complaint.

“You guys don’t know what the  you’re talking about.”  So learn a little Japanese a remember to practice your NIHITO.
